Würth relies on packaging marking with the jetStamp® 1025

Printed, not glued

customer

The Würth Group is a global specialist for assembly and fastening materials. The company is active in over 80 countries, with more than 400 companies on all five continents.
We supply both small craft businesses and industrial companies. Indispensable is a
functioning logistics. This is why Würth uses the mobile inkjet printer in the Sofia logistics center
jetStamp® 1025 from the marking specialist REINER.

challenge

A Würth logistics center is located in the Bulgarian capital Sofia, where small parts coming directly from production, for example screw nuts, are sorted in bulk goods containers and
portioned for customers and retailers. For this purpose, the goods are packed in retail-compliant cardboard boxes. Precise labeling of the packaging is essential for an intact logistics chain. At Würth, this includes barcodes, text elements in Cyrillic script and usage-specific symbols. Previously, the company relied on conventional marking using labels. The stationary printers, four in total, were located at the front of the warehouse. As a result, employees sometimes had to walk long distances - in some cases several times. Due to the cumbersome situation, Würth was looking for an optimization and turned to the marking and coding specialist
specialist REINER from Furtwangen. They were able to respond to the request immediately and presented the ideal solution in the form of the jetStamp® 1025 mobile inkjet printer.

Solution

The jetStamp® 1025 marking device offers precisely the advantages that simplify the processes in the Würth logistics center. Without any cables or a fixed location, the flexible inkjet printer can be used directly at the packaging station or wherever it is needed. This improves the working conditions of the employees and ensures a noticeable increase in productivity.
Efficiency. One battery charge enables up to 1,000 prints. Printing is possible on various surfaces - currently cardboard packaging, in future also on plastic canisters and painted metal drums. A printing speed of less than 0.9 s/print underlines the efficiency of the REINER jetStamp® 1025.

There was also the requirement to create a connection to the internal Dynamics ERP system. The ERP is used for material requirements planning, which must ensure that all components are available in the right place, at the right time and in the right quantity. The REINER jetStamp® 1025 meets this requirement, as it can be integrated into any Windows-based ERP program, merchandise management system or barcode label software (individual programming required by the customer).
can be integrated. The integrated display shows the currently set print image so that employees always have an overview. The cost-effectiveness of the labeling device is also impressive.
After two months of use, the ink level of the first cartridge is still 75 %. The low consumption does not lead to a reduction in print quality, as the print resolution of 300 dpi
always ensures a clear print image that is perfectly legible. In addition, the elimination of labels and their carrier material reduces waste and conserves natural resources in the interests of environmental protection. Thanks to the easy handling of the labeling device, Würth was able to implement the labeling device without any complications. Time-consuming employee training was not necessary.
