A medium-sized confectionery manufacturer from North Rhine-Westphalia produces fruit gums and foam sugar products for the retail trade as well as for promotional and seasonal articles. The products are filled into printed plastic bags made of laminated film. The following information must be applied to each production batch:

For smaller series, special promotions or post-production runs, however, the packaging had to be labeled retrospectively. This caused several problems:
